Of note, even when continuous monitoring occurs in the prehospital environment (eg, in mobile intensive care units), the data are typically not recorded or stored, as they are deemed unnecessary for immediate treatment decisions. The absence of such data, curated accordingly, hinders the ability to create accurate models and limits the potential for AI to improve emergency responses and outcomes.

For these reasons, this study aims to assess the readiness to diagnose and treat dementia, as well as the quality of dementia services, in the Peruvian health system from the perspective of various stakeholders.
The study has 2 overarching objectives, which are addressed by 2 parallel substudies, respectively: a health system assessment (HSA) and an exploration of the patient journey within the health system.

The AMC leadership developed virtual orientation and training modules based on implementation science, behavior change theory, and real-world experience from the More-2-Eat projects [15-17]. Modules were reviewed by the AMC Core team and are used by mentors and hospital champions before the start of implementation efforts.

In parallel, with the approval of National Health Service (NHS) England, we used the Open SAFELY secure health analytics platform to conduct a retrospective cohort study of liver function tests across the full pseudonymized patient primary care records held by the electronic health record provider TPP, covering 40% of general practices in England.

Of the 42,215 valid consenting responses, 32,965 (78.09%) were from students in school years 7 to 13 (ages 11-18 y) in 80 secondary schools and FECs. The proportion of students who, upon logging in to the survey, declined to consent to participate was 3.48% (1520/43,735). Information on school-recorded opt-outs effected by nonconsenting parents was not shared with the study team in keeping with the study’s data protection protocols and ethics guidelines [18].

The cohort participants were recruited between March 3, 2020, and March 22, 2022, with the following inclusion criteria: (1) aged >18 years and (2) agreed to take part in the study, agreed to participate, and signed the informed consent. The exclusion criteria included those who did not accept participation in the study and/or did not sign the informed consent.

To minimize these risks, we discuss the importance of confidentiality at the start of each group; request that participants attend the session from a private location; and all data are deidentified, maintained in a secured location, and only accessed by IRB-approved members of the research team.
