In cases where multiple types of vaccination interventions were combined and administered, they were classified under the category of “multicomponent” interventions.
According to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) classification [17], bodies of evidence from RCTs are a priori regarded as “high”-quality evidence, whereas evidence from observational studies starts as “low”-quality evidence.

To our knowledge, this is the first pilot interventional study focused on a culturally and linguistically adapted, multicomponent intervention, and evidence-based mobile phone app to promote physical activity among Chinese-, Tagalog-, or Vietnamese-speaking Americans. This pilot study showed high feasibility of the app-based physical activity intervention with all participants who enrolled in the study meeting run-in period criteria and all except 1 participant remaining until the end of the study.

For studies with multiple intervention arms, estimates were combined into a single group as a weighted average using Cochrane formula for combining subgroups if all the intervention arms are multicomponent. If, in a multiple arm trial, an arm was not a multicomponent intervention, then we excluded that arm.

The second main strength is the MHPI’s novel interdisciplinary nature that utilized multicomponent, evidenced-based strategies from the disciplines of lifestyle medicine and positive psychology. Using multicomponent strategies, rather than employing a single tactic, is also deemed to be more efficacious [56,71,82]. Third, the use of PSD principles in the intervention were both gender-responsive and age-sensitive. Increasing the number of PSD principles does not necessarily lead to better outcomes [52].
