The Role of AI in Nursing Education and Practice: Umbrella Review

The Role of AI in Nursing Education and Practice: Umbrella Review

Social barriers, including resistance to change among health care professionals and unequal access to AI technologies, risk widening existing gaps in health care delivery and outcomes [9,10]. Furthermore, the current nursing education system may not be adequately preparing future nurses to navigate the complexities of AI-integrated environments, necessitating curriculum reform and the development of AI literacy programs [11,12].

For example, one of the items was “Even if I encounter resistance, I continue to work on technical problems.” The internal consistency, determined by Cronbach α, was rated as good with a value of 0.8. To measure the need for cognition, we used a short 6-item scale developed by Lins de Holanda Coelho et al [64]. Items such as “I would prefer complex to simple problems” were rated on a 5-point scale, ranging from extremely uncharacteristic of me to extremely characteristic of me.

Older Adults’ Perspectives on Participating in a Synchronous Online Exercise Program: Qualitative Study

Older Adults’ Perspectives on Participating in a Synchronous Online Exercise Program: Qualitative Study

I can go out and walk and do aerobic stuff, but it’s the resistance work that I would be interested in. Three participants described concerns over incorrect form, potentially leading to injury. Older adults discuss a lack of confidence, fear of injury, and desire for more supervision when exercising. I think as we get older, certainly doing it the proper way even becomes more important than when you were young.

Wearable Activity Tracker–Based Interventions for Physical Activity, Body Composition, and Physical Function Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Wearable Activity Tracker–Based Interventions for Physical Activity, Body Composition, and Physical Function Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Similarly, the lack of significant improvements in physical function may be due to the nature of wearable activity tracker–based interventions, which primarily encourage general movement rather than structured resistance or balance training. Physical function in older adults is often influenced by muscle strength, coordination, and neuromuscular control, which may not be adequately addressed through physical activity time or step count increases.

A Remote Intervention Based on mHealth and Community Health Workers for Antiretroviral Therapy Adherence in People With HIV: Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

A Remote Intervention Based on mHealth and Community Health Workers for Antiretroviral Therapy Adherence in People With HIV: Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Poor adherence to ART can lead to poor outcomes for the patient, the emergence of drug-resistant HIV strains [12], and increased rates of HIV transmission [13]. Suboptimal levels of ART adherence, along with low levels of engagement in the HIV care continuum, have also been attributed to the progression of HIV disease and premature deaths among people with HIV [14]. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop and evaluate interventions that enhance adherence to ART.

Mental Health and Coping Strategies of Health Communicators Who Faced Online Abuse During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Mixed Methods Study

Mental Health and Coping Strategies of Health Communicators Who Faced Online Abuse During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Mixed Methods Study

Thus, simply continuing their professional obligations became an act of resistance [16]. Similarly, we put forth that health communicators who remained “active” online demonstrated significant professional resilience, compared to those who censored or otherwise minimized their online presence. Several communicators in our study noted their commitment to sharing important health information broadly with publics was one reason for this resilience.

Adoption of Large Language Model AI Tools in Everyday Tasks: Multisite Cross-Sectional Qualitative Study of Chinese Hospital Administrators

Adoption of Large Language Model AI Tools in Everyday Tasks: Multisite Cross-Sectional Qualitative Study of Chinese Hospital Administrators

For instance, a lack of digital fluency can lead to underuse, as users may find the tools intimidating or prone to errors, thereby reinforcing resistance to change. On the other hand, positive early experiences can reduce apprehension and encourage users to integrate the tools more deeply into their workflows.
