Evaluating the Diagnostic Accuracy of ChatGPT-4 Omni and ChatGPT-4 Turbo in Identifying Melanoma: Comparative Study

Evaluating the Diagnostic Accuracy of ChatGPT-4 Omni and ChatGPT-4 Turbo in Identifying Melanoma: Comparative Study

While studies have demonstrated AI’s mixed precision and accuracy, the technology is poised to assist with data-driven diagnostics in dermatology [2]. There has a been rapid popularization of the LLM, Chat GPT for home-based medical inquiries [3]. Minimal research exists on Chat GPT’s accuracy in detecting melanoma.

Perspectives of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian Communities on Health Data Use and AI: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Perspectives of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian Communities on Health Data Use and AI: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

While familiarity with AI was high, a smaller proportion of participants understood how AI can be used in health care (152/199, 76.4%), and an even smaller proportion understood how AI can be applied to dermatology (133/199, 66.8%). These outcomes did not vary significantly when stratifying by demographics such as race, age, gender, income, insurance type, or schooling (all P>.05).

The Social Construction of Categorical Data: Mixed Methods Approach to Assessing Data Features in Publicly Available Datasets

The Social Construction of Categorical Data: Mixed Methods Approach to Assessing Data Features in Publicly Available Datasets

Recently, (deep) multimodal data fusion algorithms (ie, algorithms incorporating available categorical data such as a patient’s medical history and demographics in addition to a main data category such as a medical image) have been developed and successfully used in, for example, dermatology and radiology [9-14].

Mobile Health App as an Auxiliary Tool in Management of Atopic Dermatitis in Children: Randomized Controlled Trial

Mobile Health App as an Auxiliary Tool in Management of Atopic Dermatitis in Children: Randomized Controlled Trial

A recent systematic review and meta-analysis of mobile health applications for AD reported a significant improvement in patients’ quality of life (assessed by Dermatology Life Quality Index) and self-management (assessed by Patient-Oriented Eczema Measure [POEM]) but no significant impact on AD severity (assessed by SCORAD [Scoring Atopic Dermatitis]) [3].

Modern Digital Query Analytics of Patient Education Materials on Acanthosis Nigricans: Systematic Search and Content Analysis

Modern Digital Query Analytics of Patient Education Materials on Acanthosis Nigricans: Systematic Search and Content Analysis

Digital patient education plays an important role in improving outcomes in fields such as dermatology [8]. Acanthosis nigricans (AN) is a common cutaneous disorder characterized by symmetric and velvety hyperpigmented plaques [9]. These are often found in intertriginous areas such as the posterior neck, axillae, or the inguinal or inframammary regions [9]. The prevalence of AN is as high as 74% in some populations, and its incidence increases with age [10]. Obese individuals are at higher risk for AN [10].

Artificial Intelligence–Aided Diagnosis System for the Detection and Classification of Private-Part Skin Diseases: Decision Analytical Modeling Study

Artificial Intelligence–Aided Diagnosis System for the Detection and Classification of Private-Part Skin Diseases: Decision Analytical Modeling Study

In the second stage, we designed a decision network embedded with dermatology expertise, which combined the detection results of the first stage with medical records to obtain the final decision result. Overall, our two-stage system leverages multitask learning to explore skin lesion representations at multiple granularities and introduce dermatology expertise to alleviate the data dependency of deep learning models. The details of the two stages are presented as follows.

Improving Affordability in Dermatology: Cost Savings in Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company Versus GoodRx

Studies have found that pharmacy coupon websites can lead to significant savings for patients within dermatology, with Good Rx providing some of the highest rates of saving [6]. However, while Good Rx is often used, medication costs can vary significantly depending on the pharmacy. Cost Plus offers the benefit of obtaining medications conveniently through a mail-in-one system, yet its potential benefits have not been described.
