Despite this evidence-based recommendation, the rate of HPV vaccination is suboptimal. Healthy People 2030 aims to achieve a rate of 80% HPV vaccination coverage for adolescents [3], and although gains have been steady over the years, only 58.6% were up to date as of 2020 [4].
