In any case, using pooling as a screening technique rather than as a diagnostic method minimizes its shortcomings [9]. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Interim Guidance [22] establishes the differences between diagnostic, screening, and surveillance testing and the specific requirements for each pooling application.
