This highlights that remote teleconsultations performed using cell phones do not guarantee accurate diagnoses, and so apps should be limited to use as a complementary tool to allow for appropriate emergency first aid in dental emergencies. Moreover, patients who receive teleconsultations should also seek appropriate treatment by visiting a dental clinic as soon as possible. This study was subject to several limitations. First, the study involved healthy subjects rather than actual trauma patients.
