Eventually, to automate the process more fully, the clinic technology team built a best practice alert (BPA) into the EHR so that clinical providers associated with an upcoming visit and the diabetes psychologist would receive an automated alert flag for elevated DD scores.

This collaborative team reports the results of the EHR integration, results of the feasibility testing of the urgent and emergent alert algorithms, effectiveness of the 24/7 virtual patient monitoring system, user acceptability in terms of both patient use of and satisfaction with Rhythms, and provider impressions of the impact of Rhythms on patient care.

Formal testing was performed to demonstrate that the new version of the ontology-driven alert module met functional requirements. In addition, clinical pharmacists performed manual testing in a control environment (the SAP quality assurance server) to evaluate whether the alert module functioned properly when generating the prescribing alerts.

In a previous qualitative study of people living with HIV in rural Uganda, we examined user attitudes toward an SMS text message notification sent to alert patients with low CD4 counts and to recall them to the clinic to initiate antiretroviral therapy (ART). On the basis of this investigation, we developed the Technology Acceptance Model for Resource-Limited Settings [17].

The Act included new regulations for emergency management and response to improve safety, such as requiring owners or managers of telecommunication facilities’ preferential capacity to forecast, alert, notify, or undertake other emergency measures concerning a disaster when necessary. The central and local governments of South Korea have sent emergency alert text messages to the public during the COVID-19 outbreak. In general, emergency alert text messages include two types of content.
