Effect of a Web-Based Heartfulness Program on the Mental Well-Being, Biomarkers, and Gene Expression Profile of Health Care Students: Randomized Controlled Trial

Effect of a Web-Based Heartfulness Program on the Mental Well-Being, Biomarkers, and Gene Expression Profile of Health Care Students: Randomized Controlled Trial

A blood sample of 2.5 m L was collected using a PAXgene RNA tube for RNA extraction and sequencing. This was a prospective randomized control trial assessing changes in the PSS and DASS-21 scores over a 12-week period. Both are validated questionnaires studied extensively in the literature [26,27]. The PSS consists of 10 items that measure the subjective feelings of the amount of stress in the participants by assessing thoughts and feelings in the previous month.

Comparison of Different Reverse Transcriptase–Polymerase Chain Reaction–Based Methods for Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2: Exploratory Study

Comparison of Different Reverse Transcriptase–Polymerase Chain Reaction–Based Methods for Wastewater Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2: Exploratory Study

RNA extraction was performed immediately after concentration. All samples were extracted with a Perkin Elmer chemagic Viral DNA/RNA 300 (Wallac Oy), and the samples collected in February 2021, March 2021, and May 2021 were also extracted using a Qiagen QIAamp Viral RNA mini kit (Qiagen). Both extractions were carried out according to the manufacturer’s protocols. The sample volume was 300 µL for the chemagic RNA extraction kit and 140 µL for the QIAamp RNA extraction kit.

Deep Learning–Based Identification of Tissue of Origin for Carcinomas of Unknown Primary Using MicroRNA Expression: Algorithm Development and Validation

Deep Learning–Based Identification of Tissue of Origin for Carcinomas of Unknown Primary Using MicroRNA Expression: Algorithm Development and Validation

Micro RNAs belong to a class of noncoding regulatory RNAs, small single-stranded RNA molecules that are between 19 and 25 nucleotides long and are involved in the regulation of gene expression of m RNAs. Micro RNAs hold promise as informative biomarkers for cancer due to their significant involvement in cellular processes such as cell division, apoptosis, proliferation, and oncogenesis [8].

Correlation Between Serum and Urine Biomarkers and the Intensity of Acute Radiation Cystitis in Patients Treated With Radiation Therapy for Localized Prostate Cancer: Protocol for the Radiotoxicity Bladder Biomarkers (RABBIO) Study

Over the past 2 decades, shotgun metagenomic and 16 S ribosomal RNA sequencing approaches have been widely used to determine the composition of these microbiota. This involves the analysis of metabolites (small molecules) and lipids in the blood and urine before, during, and after radiation therapy. The identity and quantity of the different metabolites and lipids depend on several factors such as available nutrients, environmental stimuli, or physiological state.
