Health Care Resource Use and Total Mortality After Hospital Admission for Severe COVID-19 Infections During the Initial Pandemic Wave in France: Descriptive Study

For instance, according to the phone call–based population sample French APCOVID-19 study, patients with PACS generated a 10% increase in family physician and private practice specialists, compared to patients without PACS [9]. In parallel, severe COVID-19 infections are known to have affected preexisting chronic conditions, likely leading to increased burden of these conditions, such as congestive heart failure or diabetes [10,11].

However, if the photos are taken with a password-protected app and are not stored on the device but directly in the picture archiving and communication system (PACS), data protection would be secured. Moreover, this would diminish the risk of false identification of the photo, and so all legislative demands would be met. The use of smartphones with apps that fulfill the data-protection requirements in medical photography is being increasingly examined.

One reason that there is no accepted diagnostic method is that various diverse psychological and physiological symptoms may fall under the potential diagnosis of PACS (see Ref. To this end, Medical-Blocks can be connected to data sources of clinical systems (eg, databases such as electronic health records [EHRs] and picture archiving and communication system [PACS]) at health care institutions by blocks. Users can explore the data in the clinical systems through Medical-Blocks, without interfering with the clinical workflow.
