Nevertheless, in a study by Hummel et al [19], we found significantly lower mean scores for depression and anxiety among HCPs than among nonmedical staff.
As nurses and frontline HCPs (eg, physicians) seem to be the most affected groups during the pandemic, it is worth focusing on these professions regarding work-related stressful events (hereafter referred to as stressors and psychosocial burden). Stress occurs when the demands overwhelm the person [20].
